Abocho Insecurity: Lawmaker calls on Government and Security operatives to save Abocho community from unknown gunmen attacks.

Kogi state House of Assembly has urged the state government, Nigeria Police and the Department of State Security help stop the incessant attacks by unknown gunmen at Abocho community in Dekina Local Government Area.

The call followed a resolution by the house on an oral motion of urgent public importance sponsored by the member representing Dekina Biraidu State Constituency Ochidi Usman Shehu during plenary at the assembly complex in Lokoja.

Ochidi said the incessant attacks was worrisome as the security operatives were not always on ground to repel the gunmen which had led to killing of innocent people.

He said one of the attacks which was close to Abocho police station led to the killing of two people and injured four others while another one led four days ago led to the death of a student.

Ochidi said if adequate security was not deployed to the area especially as the yuletide was fast approaching people would not be able to come home for the celebration.

Seconding the motion the Lawmaker representing Dekina Okura state constituency, Enema Paul said this attacks have become one too many as such the was need for security personnel to be deployed to the area.

He and only recently the woman leader in his constituency was also attacked .

Also the member representing Ankpa one, Lawal Akus said the primary responsibility of government was the protection of it’s people and their property as such there was need to make a resolution to the state governor on the matter.

Ruling on the motion, the Speaker Aliyu Umar Yusuf said security of lives AMD property was paramount in any area as such directed that the resolution of the house be sent to Governor Yahaya Bello, copying the Nigeria police and Department of State Security.
