A former legislative aide, Abdulhamid Aminu has described the Okun Yoruba people in Kogi West senatorial district as cheap sellouts in politics.
In a feisty engagement on social media, Aminu, popularly known as AA Okene, said the people Igala land have been more sincere to Ebiras than the Okuns.
“Are you guys not betrayals? Who sold out Late AT Ahmed to the Igalas for peanuts when he was at the verge of getting the ticket? You think we don’t know?
“The Okuns never did APC and do not like the Ebira people.
“As a matter of fact, the Igalas are more sincere to the Ebira people than the Okuns.
“Power is not served a-la-carte, nobody stopped your Kogi west people from contesting. Ododo will win and there is nothing your type can do to stop him,” he said.
A usually blunt and straight forward AA Okene spoke in response to an accusation by Opeyemi Duke, a politician from Kogi West.
Duke alleged that the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Usman Ododo was a wrong choice that precipitated tribal agitations ahead of November governorship election in Kogi state.
“So what are you promoting? The choice of Ododo is the real tribal agenda. Whatever you’re seeing now is a fall out of the wrong choice of Ododo. That ticket should have come to Kogi West. That people are keeping quiet out of maturity is not a reason to take them for a fool,” Duke said.
Responding to the blanket statement that Okuns are betrayers, Opeyemi Duke said AA Okene was speaking the mind of his leaders and it showed the way Okun politicians are viewed in their camp.
