“State Woman leader, Organizing Secretary, HoR candidates in the last election, several wards and LG excos have resigned in protest against what they called lack of leadership in the party”.
New waves of resignation has hit the New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP in Kogi State some weeks after the party conducted it’s controversial governorship primary election in the state, the primary which produced two governorship candidates for the party.
Those who resigned include the State woman leader of the party, Hajiya Mariam Yakubu, HoR candidates which includes Alh. Ahmed Sani, Hon. Atumeyi, Hon. Nuhu Isiaka etc
They alleged that there is a lack of leadership in the party where ticket are given to the highest bidder against the wishes of the teeming supporters of the party.
Also, a member of the NWC and deputy zonal chairman (North Central) has also left the party for People Redemption Party PRP to contest the November governorship election.
The latest development comes amid the defection of major stakeholders in the party over the past few weeks.
The primary of the party produced two candidates, Dr. Mubarak Abuche Musa who was recognized by the NWC of the party and Hon. Hassan Baiwa Abdullahi
