Inspite of the acceptance of Kogi PDP Presidential Campaign Council PCC to comply with the new signage law hurriedly introduced by the state government, the council has condemned outrightly the destruction of billboards belonging to PDP Senatorial candidate, for Kogi central, Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan and the party’s candidate in Olamaboro.
The council in a press release issued by the chairman of the media campaign committee of the party on Saturday, Austin Ochu says the action was condemnable and bitter politics taken too far, to test the patience of the main opposition party PDP in Kogi .
The council says the provocative tendencies been orchestrated by the ruling APC in Kogi state, will not augur well for the democratic practices across the state.
He wondered the continuous onslaught on Natasha’s billboards, having met the criteria put in place by the state government by paying the stipulated fines, yet to no avail.
The media committee warned on the consequences of the APC supporters taking laws into their hands, by launching an affront against the main opposition PDP.
The PDP Presidential Campaign Council in Kogi call on the state government and security agencies to launch a thorough investigation to unearth the culprits forthwith, stating that they will be a dire consequences to the reactions of the opposition PDP in the state.
He maintained the strong advocacy on issue based campaign by the PDP, stating that it will not be part of a grand plan by the ruling APC to breach the sane conducts capable of affecting the peace of the state.
