“Lecturers could return to classroom today” – ASSU

by

The President of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke has stated that the issues with the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS), as well as the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS) have been resolved.

He stated this in an interview with Channels Television on Monday evening.

He said, the issues were the top reasons the union embarked on the strike action, and now that they have been resolved, there is hope that the strike will be called-off.

The ASSU president revealed that the union will be meeting with the government today – with the possibility of lecturers returning to classroom.

He however, expressed dissatisfaction with the way government handled the strike action.
