Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan says the importance of road networks across the country cannot be overlooked.

He made this remark during the commissioning of a road in Gashua, Yobe state linking Bauchi and Jigawa state as a major access road within the North East and North West states.

The Senate President represented by the Executive Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission, Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi maintained that good and motorable roads across the state particularly the north east will address the unending insecurity, enhance economic and social activities across the area.

He commended the contractors for adhering strictly to the contractual obligations and job specifications, stating that for not abandoning the job, it was an indication of their proficiency in that area.

Kadi appealed to road users to be prudent and maintain traffic laws, as government had invested billions in realising the road project .

The Executive Chairman NASC lauded the Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan for attracting such gigantic and people oriented project to the state.
