34 lawyers appears in Court to defend killers of Deborah Samuel

About 34 lawyers have shown interest and appeared in Court on Monday as defence counsels as the suspected killers of Deborah Samuel were brought to Magistrate Court on Monday.

Deborah Samuel was lynched, killed and set ablaze on Thursday for alleged blasphemy by her fellow students of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto.

The arrest of the arsonists sparked protest in Sokoto on Saturday.

They were produced in Court on Monday for the first time after their arrest.

A lawyer who identified himself as Mansur Ibrahim said, he’s the lead Counsel to other lawyers who all appeared in the Magistrate Court for trial of suspects.

The two suspects were docked on Monday for participating in the crime.
The burnt remains of Deborah, OBSERVERSTIMES  reports were buried during the weekend in her home state in Niger.
