Tech Driven PDP, Disorganized APC: Why it’s Easy to Build a party but Hard to Manage it.

by

Since the opposition PDP injected fresh blood into its National Working Committee October last year, some appreciable and noticeable changes have been recorded. The organization competence of the party has remarkably improved following the decision of the NWC to introduce the Electronic Nomination Form Release System – which has made the internal process of leadership recruitment seamless and transparent.

It is on record that PDP has enjoyed an amazing flawless process and procedures in its organization and Mobilization. Throughout the country, a greater percentage of Nigerians are reconnecting and identifying with the party because of the monumental failure of the governing APC which has made Nigerians poorer than before they took power from the PDP.

It took the governing APC forever to organize a national congress characterized by chaos and imposition and which made ominous the organization incompetence of the party compared to that of PDP – which was hitch free and generally adjudged to be free, fair, transparent and accepted by all.

The APC is currently in disarray and reports have it that the 21 days notice in line with the Electoral Act – which mandates political parties to inform INEC of their proposed convention was floated by the APC. The foundational basis of the APC is built in illegality. Currently, the so called Buhari House which is the national secretariat of the APC is managed by incompetent hands with zero knowledge and experience of political administration.

The PDP secretariat has gone digital. The introduction of the E-Nominations Form Release System is a testament to the fact that the party on the internal level is leveraging on technology to improve the process of administration compared to the APC which at the moment is run by individuals clueless of the nitty-gritty of administration. The PDP is no doubt ready to build a nation that is technologically driven and one which professionalism is the watchword. It is unrealistic to expect a party that cannot put its house in order to steer the ship of the country. Little wonder the administration of president Buhari is making a wreck of the national ship.

The future of Nigeria is technology and PDP has proved that it has the expertise in managing the divergent interests of individual party members and if given the mandate by Nigerians will leverage on technology to increase the wealth of the nation. A party that is a good manager of people is a good manager of a nation; and PDP under the current NWC is that party.
