Distinguished Stakeholders of our Great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Honorable Delegates to the upcoming Congress, Friends and Family, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Media. I thank you all for your presence here today
My name is Adetokunbo Pearse, I am a PDP Stakeholder, a Public Affairs Analyst, a University Lecturer, and the Convener of Reset Lagos PDP.
I am here today, on behalf of my organization,. RESET LAGOS PDP. to endorse Dr. Jide Adediran aka JANDOR in his bid to win the PDP PRIMARY ELECTION AND BECOME THE PARTY’S CANDIDATE FOR GOVERNOR OF LAGOS STATE IN THE 2023 GENERAL ELECTION.
My purpose for this endorsement is not to derail the campaign of the other aspirants. I have not come to cast aspersions on their aspiration. As a matter of fact, some of them are friends and colleagues of mine. All of them have made great contributions to the Party. I have no ill will towards anyone.
Nonetheless, I would like to state without equivocation that in my studied opinion; of all the qualified stalwarts of our Party running for Governor at this time, Jide JANDOR is the most qualified for which reason I am supporting him, and hereby appeal to all Party Delegates to join me in endorsing him.
Please allow me to state the reasons why I believe Jandor stands the best chance of winning in the General Election, and why he should be elected as the Candidate to represent PDP in that exercise
(1). FINANCIAL CAPACITY.
Jandor candiditure as PDP flag bearer, is able to attract multiple sources of funding, due to my personal findings I can unequivocally attest to his capacity to raise funds within and outside the party. The day of his official declaration, attended by PDP stalworths and well wishers across the country attest to his capacity for support
It is noteworthy that while Jandor is able to generate funding from multiple sources, all the other aspirants most likely have access to only 1; which is the funding from the National/Presidential candidate. Unfortunately, we all know that often when candidates find that the one source from PDP National is insufficient to finance their Election, they put a token amount towards the election and pocket the rest.
(2). POLITICAL SAGACITY.
The defection of Jandor and his Lagos4 Lagos Group to the PDP has brought many new members to the PDP fold. The movement has also encouraged others now in the ruling party in Lagos to consider defecting from the troubled Party to our Great Party. This process is ongoing.
Come the General Election, we envisage thousands
of registered APC members voting in solidarity with the Lagos4 Lagos rebellion against the unpopular APC administration. With this development, PDP will accumulate enough numbers to win not only the Governorship but all other races.
ELECTION DAY ALACRITY.
A perennial problem experienced by PDP is the absence of local security operatives; popularity known as “Strong Boys ”
Jandors candidature will further enhance our capacity to defend our votes on election day.
Having toiled for over 20yrs in the political wilderness created for us by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, you and I owe it to ourselves and to posterity to rescue Lagos from APC’S stranglehold and misrule.
I’d like to conclude by reminding all of us that when we got rid of leadership that failed us repeatedly for 20 years; that is 5 election cycles, we vowed never again to empower Candidates who are willing and able only to win Primary Elections. We vowed that from now on, we are determined to focus on winning the general election.
If we are to keep our promise to ourselves, if we are to maintain our new found winning mentality, if we expect to enjoy the benefits of Democracy which is only realisable, if in government, we must present a candidate who is best equipped to win at the General Election and take us to Alausa in 2023.
I pray you’ll agree with me that the aspirant Who best fits that bill in this election cycle is non other than Dr Olajide Adediran , this MAN OF THE PEOPLE, WE AFFECTIONATELY CALL JANDOR!
