Former Kaduna State Senator, Shehu Sani has suggested that the solution to ending banditry in Nigeria lies in identifying those who ultimately collect ransom paid to bandits by victims.
The politician who posted this on his Twitter handle on Thursday, saying despite extorting huge sums of money from victims, bandits still remain ragtag criminals and famished looking souls with AK-47s.
He noted that the solution to banditry lies in investigating those who collect the millions of naira made by bandits.
He wrote, “The bandits killing and kidnapping people in Northern Nigeria are famished looking, ragtag criminals riding on motorcycles and holding AK 47s. The solution lies in getting to the root of who ultimately collects the millions of the ransom money they extort from their victims.”

His comment comes amid the increasing menace of banditry in the Northern region with the incessant killing of people in communities and travellers along major roads by bandits.
This week, bandits killed a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Honourable Rilwanu Aminu Gadagau, who was representing the Giwa West Constituency.
