Senator Natasha Akpoti, who represents Kogi Central, has massively embarked on renewable electricity projects in Kogi Central. The solar light project and the installation of the street lights have commenced in Okehi and will cut across the five local government areas of the district.
It was gathered by OBSERVERSTIMES that the project is meant to increase the socio-economic activities in the various communities under coverage as the senatorial bids to overcome the age-long darkness that has ravaged most of the local government areas that make up Kogi Central.
While interacting with residents of these areas, one of the community leaders in Okehi local government, Mallam Abdulmumuni, visibly called on other community leaders and residents of the various communities to take ownership of the lights and other government infrastructure to prevent vandalism.
He said that the project, which is meant to enhance the quality of the lives of the people, should not be destroyed, adding that every individual must strive to prioritize its sustainability, as that can only attract more development from the initiator.
Every area in Central has been taken care of as the project was carefully spread across strategic locations. For example, it runs from Adavi kabba junction to Ogaminana, Inorere to Kuroko junction. In the Okene local government area

The initiative is coming barely two months after Barrister Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan was sworn in as Senator representing the people of Kogi Central, and the development has earned her applause as netizens as well as members of his constituency, hailing such an unprecedented achievement.
Natasha believes that the project is a spark of greater plans she has for her people, adding that she is ready to lead from the front to teach and demonstrate the tenets of leadership in the process.
The project is expected to be completed between now and the first quarter of January 2024, and that will mark a new chapter in the history of Kogi Central, she said.
