Some senior lecturers of Kogi State College of Education Ankpa( KSCOEA), have been converted to part time lecturers over the refusal of the state government to offset the four year salary arears after screening since August , 2019.
This was coming as some of the lecturers affected by the ugly development have died due to ailement and sufferings of various degree with no response from the college and the state government.
All appeals to various state government organs from the Head of service to Accountant General’s office as well as the Ministry of Education, department of higher Education was been frustrated by the refusal of the state government to recognize the services of the College Lecturers.
The affected lecturers numbering about twenty two(22) had made series of appeals to the state government and opinion leaders in the state with no positive response.
Few days to end of the current administration of Governor Yahaya Bello, an appeal has again gone directly to the state government to consider payment of over four years salary arears to enable the remaining surviving lecturers and their families carry on with their lives.
