Former political officer holders under the immediate past administration of Capt Idris Wada, has demanded the payment of salaries and severance package by the state governor,Alhaji Yahaya Bello from the Bail out funds.
The appointees challenged kogi governor, the rationale behind payment of workers salaries and arears without consideration of the operators of political offices within that period of 2012-2016 They wondered that political officers at the local government level which include former elected local government chairmen and councillors as well supervisory councillors, were paid at the inception of the present administration, hence they will be no justification ostracising them .
The former political office holders justified the payment after the release of the balance of Bail out funds to the state government ,saying it will be misnomer denying them of their entitlements They said former governor Idris Wada captured the balance of two months salaries for state workers, including the political office holders, saying the refusal of the state government not to pay is a complete denial of people’s right Political appointees said the refusal of kogi governor to pay up the liabilities, will further increase the commitment of the state government to its workforce, which consists of both civil servants, pensioners and political office holders.
One of the suppose beneficiaries who spoke with our reporter in Lokoja said “we were blaming Wada before now , but now that the money he previously told has been released to his successor, i can now confirm to you that Wada hands are now clean, it is Bello that is owing us”
