Former Labour Party presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra, Peter Obi, has revealed his willingness to consider a vice-presidential role in the 2027 general election if he finds a candidate who can perform better than him.
In an exclusive interview with New Central TV, Obi emphasized his ambition to move Nigeria forward, stating, “I’m not desperate to be Nigerian president. I am desperate to see Nigeria work. If I see people who can do the work better, I will (consider being Vice President).”
Obi reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party, saying he won’t leave but is open to a merger with other politicians if their purposes align with his vision. He stressed that any collaboration must prioritize the welfare of Nigerians, particularly in areas like education.
Meanwhile, the Labour Party’s National Working Committee has accused Obi and other party leaders of misappropriating campaign funds, sparking controversy within the party.
