A recent investigation has uncovered that approximately 200 Nigerian politicians, security officers, and their families have invested nearly $1 billion in the Dubai property market. The investigation, dubbed “Dubai Unlocked,” was led by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and Economy Post, in collaboration with over 70 media partners.
The investigation revealed that these individuals have acquired a total of 1,600 properties in prime locations in Dubai over the past two decades. The estimated value of these properties is $997.79 million, with Nigerians being the second-largest foreign purchasers of Dubai properties, after India.
