Atiku Abubakar Reveals Reason for Visiting Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearer in the 2023 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has disclosed the purpose of his recent visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari’s Daura residence in Katsina State.

Accompanied by Senator Aminu Tambuwal and other PDP stakeholders, Atiku explained on his X page that the visit was a courtesy call to pay “Sallah homage” to the former Nigerian leader.

This visit comes shortly after Atiku’s visits to former military heads of state, Ibrahim Babangida and Abdulsalami Abubakar, in Minna, Niger State, where he also paid “Sallah homage.”

Atiku’s recent political engagements have sparked speculation about his potential intentions to contest the 2027 presidential election. In May, he expressed his determination to continue running for the presidency as long as he remains healthy.

The visits have fueled rumors of a possible coalition with Labour Party’s Peter Obi and other political parties, aiming to form a united front for the upcoming election.
