Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has marked his one-year anniversary in office with a significant revelation: his administration inherited 34 uncompleted projects worth over N225.279 billion across 13 local government areas. Additionally, his government has awarded nine new road projects valued at N534.332 billion.
Presenting his stewardship and scorecard, Governor Fubara noted that his administration inherited a state with a declining economy despite its growth potential. However, within one year, his government has successfully turned the narrative around for the better.
Key achievements highlighted by the governor include:
– Increased internally generated revenue
– Attracted more economic investments to the state
– Progress in economic growth, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture
Governor Fubara also reflected on the political crisis that his administration faced early on, describing it as a “vicious existential crisis.” However, he expressed gratitude that the worst is over and his administration has successfully defended its rights and privileges to govern the state and advance its progress in liberty and freedom without compromise.
