The Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF), under the chairmanship of Senator Bala Mohammed, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for the progress made on the Oyo State Government (OYSG)-Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) Infrastructure Development and Distribution project.
The Forum, in a statement signed by its Director General, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, praised the visionary initiative of Governor Makinde and his administration for creating a conducive business environment that has attracted multi-billion Naira investments to the state.
The project, which involves the construction of a Pressure Reduction and Metering Station (PRMS) and laying of pipelines on a Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) basis, is expected to bring the first flow of gas to industrial, manufacturing, and commercial entities in Oyo State within 18 months.
The PDP-GF noted that the project will have multiple benefits for the state, region, and nation, including guaranteed growth in commerce and trade, abundant business and employment opportunities, and a significant reduction in poverty.
The Forum assured Governor Makinde of its support for the successful completion and commissioning of the project, which is expected to be a significant economic leap for the state and the nation.
The statement concluded by commending Governor Makinde for his leadership and vision in driving economic growth and development in Oyo State.
