According to Daily Post, Boma Goodhead, the legislator representing Akuku/Asari Toru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has weighed in on the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State. The conflict centers around a leadership dispute between the current Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of Federal Capital Territory. This discord has resulted in significant political shifts, including the defection of 27 PDP lawmakers in the House of Assembly to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the resignation of some Commissioners in Governor Fubara’s cabinet.
In his remarks, Goodhead conveyed a warning to Tinubu, urging him to advise Wike and prevent further disruptions in Rivers State. He emphasized that the next time Wike enters the state to disturb the peace, the people will not remain passive observers. Goodhead challenged Wike directly, stating that if he is indeed a man, he should return to Rivers State, where the residents are prepared to demonstrate what it means to hold the state.
In his words; “We are here to tell Ahmed Bola Tinubu to call Wike to order because the next time he comes into Rivers State to disturb the peace of the state we’ll not fold our hands and watch. Wike should come to Rivers State and we’ll show him what it means to hold Rivers State. We dare you, to come back to Rivers State again if you’re a man.”
