Right Now, People Are Getting kidnapped In Maitama, Asokoro and Even From where I Live- Ireti Kingibe

by

The Senator of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Ireti Kingibe, expressed dissatisfaction and displeasure with Nyesom Wike’s plans to complete the Millennium Tower and Cultural Centre. She stated, “People are getting kidnapped in Maitama, Asokoro, across the road, not too far from where the embassies are and even from where I live.” She made this statement, pointing out that the completion of the Millennium Tower and Cultural Center is not the most pressing issue that needs to be tackled in Abuja.

Speaking further in an interview with Arise TV, Senator Ireti Kingibe stated that she is not against the completion of the Millennium Tower and Cultural Center. She pointed out that the N72 billion budgeted for the completion of the center can be used to tackle issues like insecurity, healthcare problems, and electricity in Abuja.

According to her, “to complete that Millennium Tower and Cultural Center will cost us N72 billion, according to Senator Wike. Insecurity is a major challenge in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and I think a lot of resources need to be channeled there. Right now, people are getting kidnapped in Maitama, Asokoro, across the road, not too far from where the embassies are and even from where I live. It’s not just on the outskirts of Abuja anymore, so until we all feel secure, everything else does not make sense. Abuja has problems with water, light, healthcare, and schools, and so I think that N72 billion will go a long way in getting some of these people’s problems ameliorated. I don’t want him (Wike) to abandon it. I agree with him; he does have a point because we’ve already started building the center. I just think we can postpone the completion until we are stronger and more financially liquid as a nation.”
