2023: We’re working on alternative to APC, PDP – Hakeem Baba-Ahmed

The Director of Publicity, Northern Elders Forum, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has disclosed that mechanisms are in motion to create an all-encompassing political movement as an alternative to both the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the country.

Speaking on the Channels TV program, PoliticsToday on Thursday, Mr Baba-Ahmed said the members of the two political parties are a bunch of power grabbers who had only succeeded in pauperizing the citizens of the country.

We are where we are today because for the last 10 to 15 years, a trend has been set in motion where more and more citizens have become marginalized, threatened, pauperized because the Nigerian state has completely broken down.

“Citizens are not being protected, the economy is shrinking, our leaders are after power, and they are not interested in governing citizens.

“This is why we are trying to create an alternative to APC and PDP. These two parties have run the country aground.

They have destroyed this country, and if we are going to follow these two parties, they are going to destroy each other, and continue on and finish this country.

“There will be no Nigeria, I assure you in the next ten years there will be no country, because these are not political parties.

“They are clubs of powerful and rich people who are interested in state capture, meaning they want power so they can get their hands on state resources, plant down the country, pauperize citizens, make us more desperate, and make us fight each other.

And there is nothing to fight over. This is a very rich country, there is enough land for the Fulani as much as anyone else, and we don’t need to fight over land, water and resources.

“God has blessed this country and he has given us over two hundred million people. In two hundred million people we can create leaders that are a lot better than these two parties.

“We need to recreate the political process. We need to throw away these two parties.”
