Like, I foreseen this shady politickings of the Nigeria politicians coming-up, when i asked the north central key political actors to begin meeting and speaking in unison if they truly wants to be free from the political strangulation in my last online message dated January 5, 2022.
Ordinarily, the north central states ought not to have being second fiddles in Nigeria but because we don’t take the general interest of the people above personal interest, we walks a separate path and lost the fist for a common goal. When it comes to salvation, he who hesitates may be lost. It beats me hollow the sophomoric rashness with which other zones of country keep bulling the north central zone especially when it comes to issues of national concern as if they are politically insignificant.
The north central politicians are viciously oblivion of the fact that we are in era when prospects of armistice and negotiations are berthed in intellectual discourse and not self-serving interest, this is why we see the core northern politics supremely intact and superb. They know when and how to converge for the general interest of the northerners irrespective of their political differences.
In the instant furore about whether the north central zone should accept the position of national party chairman to any political party or insist on providing the next president of the country, before anything, we must index some critical issues going through the memory lane which we all are deliberately closing our eyes to. From the advent of democracy in 1999, north central zone have had the opportunity to produced more than seven (7) national party chairmen almost to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). Of this number, Benue state produced the highest and highest in Nigeria as a whole. If national party chairman is what the Benue state needs to develop and better the lots of Nigerians, Benue would have been the most developed state today. If national party chairman is what the north central zone needs to develop, the zone by privilege, would have been the Mini Dubai part of the country by now. I think, for the sake of unity and inclusiveness, what the north central need this time is president and not the party chairman of any political party again. If we are one and equal amongst the other zones of the country, then, its high time they considered us fits for the number one position of the country.
From record, the north central zone have diligently votes for eight (8) presidents of Nigeria into power from 1999 to-date and have not been given the opportunity to be voted. This is an outright demagogue, a clear deviation from the ethics, culture and norms of the Nigeria constitution. i considered the zoning of the national party chairman of any political party to north central again as mischievous, unpatriotic, undemocratic and reprehensible. I see it as an attempt to constantly keep enslaving the zone politically. I see it as a syndicate or connivery operation from other zones of the country to further subjugate the people of the zone by preventing them from showcasing their political competence and credibility. We have the right to vote and be voted for, therefore, we must not be defranchised in this regards.
Better a curtain is hang motionless than a flag blowing in the wind. Every well meaning politician, club/association and individuals from the north central should be seen advocating for the position of president from any political party for the sake of history and not jubilating and permutating for national party chairman that has never led us anywhere near development.
The north central zone deserves more than the national party chairman.
