2023: Obasanjo meets with Northern Elders Forum, Ohanaeze, Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum

 
Fresh Facts have emerged on a meeting Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo convened with the Leaders of Afenifere, Middle Belt Forum, Northern Elders’ Forum, Ohanaeze Ndigbo and Pan Niger Delta Forum in Abuja recently.
OBSERVERS TIMES learned that Obasanjo convened the 2 day-meeting to re-state his position that the country was fast drifting into a failed and badly divided state under President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to a reliable source, three serving governor attended the meeting namely; Governor Kayode Fayemi, Atiku Bagudu and Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
The source also revealed that former president Obasanjo had intimated the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, before the dialogue was held.
Also speaking on the meeting, the Director of Engagement, Northern Elders Forum, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed disclosed that each group expressed reservations on the state of the country.
“There were a lot of things about the state of the nation. Every group expressed serious reservations and concerns about the state of the country, and we all committed ourselves to see all that we can do to pull out the country from the brink.”
