2023: Massob is for Yahaya Bello, I don’t believe in Igbo presidency – MASSOB leader, Uwazuruike

by

The founder and leader of Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra/ Biafra Independent Movement, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has said that he does not believe in a president of Igbo extraction. Uwazuruike stated this on Saturday when the Governor of Kogi State and presidential aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Yahaya Bello, visited him in Owerri, capital of Imo State.

He based his argument on the fact that if Nigeria’s sovereignty must be upheld the idea of Igbo president must be discarded. He said, “I don’t believe in the idea of zoning system or Igbo president, I don’t believe in Igbo president, Hausa or Yoruba president because zoning means sectionalism. There is no sectionalism in American constitution. If you say you believe in Nigeria, believe in one Nigeria but if we want tribalism or sectionalism then go back to Biafra.”

He said his group will support Governor Yahaya Bello for the presidency because he is a youth and has the leadership qualities to deliver the Nigeria project.”Yahaya Bello is courageous, forceful, we should try him.” In his reaction, Governor Bello expressed gratitude for the reception given to him by MASSOB members in the state. He said that “I am prepared to lead this country. I shall address insecurity, educational system as well as health’s system,” he said.
