2023: APC ready to make Tinubu presidential candidate – Lawmaker

A member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Gbolahan Yishawu has said the State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is prepared to make the party’s National Leader, Bola Tinubu its presidential candidate in 2023.

Yishawu said the success of Saturday’s State congress showed that they were ready to make Tinubu APC flag bearer.

The lawmaker, who is representing Eti-Osa II stated this shortly after the congress that took place at Mobolaji Johnson Arena Stadium in Lagos State.

Yishawu noted that the success of the Congress showed that internal democracy had come to stay.

He commended party members for peace and orderliness during the outcome of the congress.

He said: “It is a demonstration of internal democracy as you can see here everything is peaceful, very orderly, and the rules and regulations of the party is being played according to the constitution of the party and we are upholding all democratic and pragmatic Stakeholders of today, internal democracy is working in the All Progressive Congress party.

“For us in Lagos State, the Congress shows that we are one and united and we can galvanize ourselves and by God’s grace, our wish is to have our leader Aisiwaju Bola Tinubu as our presidential candidate of the party come 2023.”

Tinubu is believed to be nursing a 2023 presidential ambition.

To this end, posters have been sighted in some states, while a campaign office was opened in Abuja.

Amid the clamour by his supporters, the former Lagos State governor has remained silent over his presidential ambition.
