2023; APC Crises Worsens In Kogi, As Idah Council Chairman Allegedly Attacked Councillor.

The crises rocking the All Progressives Congress APC in Kogi state over the last few months had taken a dangerous dimension, as the Executive Chairman, Idah local government, Hon Abubakar Odoma allegedly physically assaulted a female councillor from neighborhood igalamela odolu local government, Mrs Hon Zainab Omaga.

The Idah local government chairman was said to have beaten the female councillor blue black over her affiliations with another APC starlwart in the area.

It was revealed that the crises is on who becomes the next Kogi Governor in 2023 between the Kogi governor’s Chief of staff, Asuku Jamiu, the current Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja and another likely and influential aspirant, Alhaji Murtala who was going round during the yuletide sensitizing his followers.

The incidence was coming at a time and few months away when similar attacks was launched on a former commissioner in Kogi state,Salisu Sani Ogu who hails from the area, by the Idah local government area chairman, Alhaji Abu Odoma.

With the current show of hooliganism and break down of law and order by the Idah council Chairman, the state government under Yahaya Bello feign ignorance, with no actions or reactions taken since the unfortunate development.

In her letter titled ‘Complaint of Violent and Assault Against My Humble Self, Hon Zainab Omaga by Hon Abu Odoma,Idah Local Government Council Chairman’ addressed to the President, International Federation of Women Lawyers,FIDA Kogi state chapter, she called for detailed investigation and save her soul from killers sponsored by Hon Abu Odoma, Chairman Idah local government.

In her petition,she clamoured for the safety of her life, as she was been threatened and with a promise to exterminate her by all means possible.
‘Each time he sees me, he has been threatening to deal with me.
However, the climax of his threat became manifest when on 24
December, 2021 at the residence of one Hon. Friday Idachaba, he (ie.
Hon. Abu Odoma) hit me on the chest and thereafter, his boys started.’ She asserted.

‘Hon. Speaker, to my chagrin and consternation, immediately Hon.
Abu Odoma saw me he hit me on the chest, and the next thing was that
his boys started beating me to the extent that I went into coma, until I
saw myself in the Hospital.’

‘Sir, it is worthy to reiterate that he had vowed and threatened to
deal with me and that, what happened to me on that day was a child’s
play, and that more terrible and horrendous incident will happen to me.’

She appealed to FIDA and other law enforcement agencies to save his life from the threats of Idah local government area chairman, Hon Abu Odoma,his boys and cronies who had no good intentions towards her.

‘1 therefore, urge on you to save my soul.
Thanks, and have the assurances of my esteemed regards as I
expect your urgent intervention.’

Speaking with the Observerstimes on the alleged attacked on the female Councellor, Idah council boss said there  is no connection between Idah local government Councellor and and Igala Mela Odolu, her interference in the idah affairs lead to misunderstanding and which was settled immediately , denying beaten her, Mr Odoma said as an elected council Chairman he can’t descend so low to the extend of fighting a lady who is a Councelor, that the alleged attacked is mere political calculation aiming at his personality.
