Corps member renovates broken classrooms in Kogi; fixes roofs, paints walls during service year

A Nigerian lady, Iheoma Sunday, has used her one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme to make many smile. Taking to her LinkedIn page, Iheoma said that she took it upon herself to raise awareness and source for funds to renovate classrooms in disuse.

She revealed that with the help of the project, students who could not continue their education because they lacked conducive environments to learn returned to their classes. The lady said it gave her a great feeling that she was able to contribute her quota in 2020 to make society better.

One of the snaps the lady shared showed the roof of an old class coming off. Photos of the renovations have the whole classroom clean and painted.

I completed a personal community project during my Youth Service (NYSC), helping to raise awareness for and to renovate dilapidated classroom blocks for a rural community in Lokoja, Kogi state.”
