BREAKING: Gunmen attack ex-NAFDAC boss’ home

Four gunmen in the early hours of Monday invaded the residence of the former Director General of National Agency for Foods and Drugs Administration Control, Dr. Paul Orhii.
According to sources, the four men who were armed with pistols and machetes forced themselves into the house located behind Nigeria Television Authority, Makurdi.

As soon as the suspected gunmen forcefully entered the house, they attempted to attack the security personnel at the post but were repelled by the policemen.
Dr. Orhii, who spoke to our correspondent on phone confirmed the attack but said that the policemen on duty repelled them.
“Early this morning, precisely 1.05 a.m., some four men armed with pistols and machetes came to my residence in Makurdi and went straight to the security post in an attempt to disarm my security personnel.
“During the ensuing struggle, the policemen started shooting, which caused the intruders to run for their lives”, Orhii said.
The former NAFDAC DG said that machetes and pistol loaded with six bullets and three footwear were left behind by the intruders.
Orhii added that all the items recovered have been handled over to Special Anti-Robbery Squad office in Makurdi.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the State Command, DSP, Catherine Anene, said she was yet to be briefed about the invasion of the former NAFDAC boss’ residence.
