Give Bello Ticket And Forget Kogi State, APC Youths Caution Oshiomhole
Youths of All Progressive Congress in Kogi state have cautioned the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole against making Governor Yayaha Bello, the flag bearer of the party in the governorship election that is to be held on November.
This position was made known by All Progressive Congress Youth Vanguard in a statement signed by John Audu, the Kogi state Coordinator.
According to Audu, APC in Kogi state has become unmarketable since 2015 due to the failure of Governor Yayaha Bello to provide dividend of democracy to the people of the confluence state.
He further posited that Yahaya Bello messed up a golden opportunity that was made available by the deceased Alhaji Abubakar Audu and other progressives in the state. He accused Bello of deliberately shortchanging civil servants and pensioners by his refusal to pay salaries and pension for 38 months, wondering the manner of evil that occupies his heart.
He accused Yahaya Bello of attempting to reap where he did not sow by trying to take credits for the victory of APC in the state in the General election, and insisted that the victory of APC in the last election in the state was due to the performance and integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari and the commitment of progressives in Kogi state.
According to the youth leader, “Governor Yahaya Bello is a inhuman leader who repeatedly failed to pay salaries and pension since his coming to power despite the hundreds of billions of naira he received from allocation, the federal government bailout funds, Paris club refund and other monetary sources. Bello deceived us to believing that he was doing verification exercise since he took power but almost four years and that seem to he unending”, he stated.
“In addition to these, the governor destroyed the party by using state apparatus against anyone that tells him to do what is right and even party leaders that signified interest in his office. The governor has turned Kogi state into a laughing stock in the country and has turned Kogi workers and pensioners into beggars. We, the youths of the party are in tune with the people of the state and we pass a vote of no confidence on him”, Comrade Audu added.
Comrade Audu pledged the support of APC youths the people of Kogi state on the Buhari administration and the leadership of the party under Comrade Adams Oshiomole, but warned that the entire state are prepared to drop partisanship aside and vote out Governor Bello should the party be deceived into giving the ticket to him.
