2 herders nabbed for allegedly attempting to disarm policeman

The Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested two herdsmen in Azikoro axis of Yenagoa for allegedly attempting to disarm a policeman. The spokesman of the command, SP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the arrest yesterday, said that the duo of Dautra Abakara and Agonto Gimta on March 10 entered a construction yard of a leading construction company in the state with their cows for grazing but refused to leave when the security officer persuaded them to leave.

He said in an attempt to arrest them, one of the herders tried to disarm the policeman and in the process a bullet went out of the gun and pierced his (policeman) right foot. He said the two herders have since been arrested and detained for further investigation.
