Kogi West Senate: Alleged Poisoning of Tunde Ayeni By EFCC, Congress For Better Okun Fingers Senatorial Candidate
The Congress for Better Okun has fingered a Senatorial candidate for been behind the current travails of Tunde Ayeni, former Chairman of Skye Bank, and accused the Economic Financial Crime Commission for allegedly poisoning the former Bank’s Chairman.
In a statement signed by Emmanuel Ojo, on behalf of the Congress for Better Okun, described the action to use EFCC to arrest Chief Tunde Ayeni as the trade mark of a particular Senatorial candidate who in the past has always enjoyed the support of Tunde Ayeni, but lamented that now that he has been openly rejected by the people of Okun land, the Senatorial candidate has chosen to hunt Chief Tunde Ayeni for reason for his rejection.
The group disclosed that Chief Tunde Ayeni’s support for Alhaji Abubakar Atiku and Senator Dino Melaye is reason why the Senatorial candidate has chosen to use the presidency and EFCC to hunt Chief Tunde Ayeni.
The group further add that having obtained a loan of N570million from Aso Savings which now stands at N1.2billion to fund his 2015 election, the Senatorial candidate now chooses to hunt Chief Tunde Ayeni who helped him secure the loan.
Mr Ojo lamented that the current style to arrest Chief Tunde Ayeni by the EFCC as masterminded by the Senatorial candidate has always been his style to pull down and intimidate his fellow Okun brothers when ever he is desperate to achieve his political aspiration.
The Congress for Better Okun, therefore call on the Okun people to be aware of the new trick to once again bring a fellow Okun brother and to bring him to disrepute, malign the integrity of a fellow Okun son by a Senatorial candidate all because of his aspiration.
The group however warned that the Okun nation would rise against this singular efforts by another Okun man who is bent on bringing down an Okun Son because of his personal ambition, adding that the current style to arrest, incarcerate and allegedly poisoning Chief Tunde Ayeni would be resisted vehemently by Okun people voting overwhelmingly for their preferred candidate.
The group said the Senatorial candidate who has always use the EFCC to harass and intimidate perceived opponents, a style usually used by the senatorial candidate has been uncovered, described the present action against Chief Tunde Ayeni as one that has failed, promising that the people have made up their minds as the plot against Chief Ayeni would only worsen the outcome of the election for the rejected Senatorial candidate.
